A new Loretta Lynn album is on the way, the icon’s label announced Thursday. Wouldn’t It Be Great, the latest from her Cash Cabin Sessions, will drop via Sony’s Legacy Recordings imprint on Aug. 18 (though fans can pre-order now).

Produced by Lynn’s daughter Patsy Lynn Russell and longtime family friend John Carter Cash (son of the legendary Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash), the set is featured as “one of the most deeply personal albums of her career,” according to a release.

When EW spoke to Lynn in 2016 in advance of her most recent album, Full Circle, she described the studio sessions with Cash and Russell as idyllic. “There was nothing strenuous about it,” she said. “We’d have a little break every bit and have a picnic. I’d have my cup of coffee, we’d be with our families—and then go back right into it.”

Lynn, one of the American songbook’s most revered scribes, has writing credits on each of the upcoming tracks. Like her stellar 2016 release, Great will include brand new tunes — titles include “Ruby’s Stool,” “Ain’t No Time To Go,” and “I’m Dying For Someone To Live For” — alongside old favorites from her canon, like “Coal Miner’s Daughter” and “Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind),” reinterpreted with a new perspective and, often, a new musical arrangement. Great also includes a re-recording of “God Makes No Mistakes,” from her 2004 team-up with Jack White, the Grammy-winning Van Lear Rose. A full track list is below.

“I think you try to do better with every record you put out,” Lynn said of the upcoming LP in a release. “It’s just everyday living — and everybody wants to know, ‘Well, what is it about your songs that people like?’ I think you’ve got to tell your stories. I just think it hits everybody, you know, the songs.”

Lynn, who turns 85 on April 14, is celebrating her milestone with two celebratory performances at Nashville’s fabled Ryman Auditorium on April 14 and 15. She will headline the venue again on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26. Ticketing information is available on the Ryman website.
